2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid sodium salt (HANERCHEM®AMPS-Na) is a highly reactive, highly hydrophilic monomer and a polymerizable surfactant. Acrylamide groups promote fast polymerization; pendant methyl groups and sodium methanesulfonate effectively prevent amino hydrolysis and thermal degradation; sulfonated groups exhibit hydrophilic and ionic characteristics at any pH value. The research results of the gel, particle size, surface charge density, and latex stability generated during the synthesis of the latex show that the polymer has the characteristics of a polymer electrolyte, and is adsorbed on the surface of the latex particles to form an ionosphere, thereby increasing the stability of the latex. It can not only replace carboxylic acid monomers (such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, etc.), but also reduce the amount of other surfactants used, so that pure acrylic, acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsions are resistant to divalent cations and have good resistance to hydrolysis. Sexual and thermal stability; products made from emulsions have a smooth and pliable, comfortable feel, and colloidal film-forming scrub resistance is significantly improved. It can also be used as the third monomer for synthetic fibers.
